Frozen yogurt, or fro-yo, as I like to call it, is one of my favorite summer treats. It is slightly healthier than ice-cream, flavors are abundant, and you can load it up with a variety of toppings. It’s a fairly new trend on the East Coast, (why do all the best trends start on the West Coast?) and there are a multitude of self-serve yogurt shops in the Orlando area.
Why not have your cake and eat it too at some of the best (in my opinion) fro-yo shops in Orlando!
1. Yogurtland– This is my favorite place to go when a craving hits. They have have a long list of interesting flavors that are continuously rotating. Cinnamon Roll or Mexican Hot Chocolate, anyone? Their fro-yo is made with only the highest quality of fresh ingredients. My favorite flavor is the Red Velvet Cupcake Batter, topped with Fruity Pebbles, brownie pieces, and mini PB cups. It’s an interesting and yummy combination. Try it! To check out the nearest location, head over to the plaza across from Winter Park Village. They have hours until at least 10pm in case you get a late-night craving.
2. Menchie’s– Aside from their extremely adorable mascot, Menchie, this place has some pretty tasty fro-yo too. Here you will find a variety of flavors (some similar to Yogurtland), and toppings to pile on however you like. They offer more toppings of the fresh fruit variety than Yogurtland, which I enjoy when I am craving a healthier treat. One of the major differences between Yogurtland and Menchie’s is that Menchie’s serves sorbet and pineapple soft serve. Yum! With 10 different locations spanning from Lake Mary to Kissimmee, there is bound to be one near you. Hours vary by location but close between 9pm and 11pm.
3. Tutti Frutti– Same concept as the two previous shops I listed, but extremely creamy fro-yo. Some of their flavors are a little too “out-there” for me, but still appealing nonetheless. Interested in getting a serving of vegetables with your treat? Try their creamed corn fro-yo. How about breakfast? They have frosted flakes fro-yo on their menu. Tutti Frutti has 3 locations in the Orlando area.
